26th Annual Harwell Mail-In Art Show

Artists from across the country sent in their artwork for the Margaret Harwell Mail-in Art Show. All entries had to fit in an 11 ½” x 14 ½” envelope with a range from traditional to highly experimental.
A Kansas artist, Ralph Fontenot was selected the Purchase Award winner for his miniature watercolor “Discussion at the Gate” by juror Barbara Pelton.
Second place was awarded to Sali Ware of Malden for her Italian glass on copper “Volcano/Blooms.”
Third place was presented to Judith Edgington Bayes of Treasure Island, FL., for acrylic painting ‘Expectations” and Honorable Mention to James W, Huck of Poplar Bluff and Sy Ellens of Kalamazoo, MI.
Financial assistance for this project has been provided by Missouri Arts Council, a state agency. The museum is open to the public noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1 – 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Guided group tours are available by calling 686-8002. Admission is free. The museum is physically impaired accessible and located at 421 N. Main St.
