17th Annual Regional Juried High School Art Exhibit
Opening reception tol be held from 1 - 3 p.m. Sunday, April 2nd to honor students, their teachers and family. The award presentation will be at 2 p.m.
Dexter High School student Katie Coleman has won Best of Show award for her colored pencil drawing “Fly on the Wall” in 17th Annual Regional Juried High School Art Exhibit at the Margaret Harwell Art Museum.
High school students from area districts were invited to submit up to 12 original works created in the 2016-17.
The winning pieces will be displayed at the museum through April 30th.
The following students have been selected as winners in each category:
Painting: Katie Coleman of Dexter, first place “Rhythm of Love”; Reagan Miller of Dexter, second place “Sapphire Sadness”; Ali Cornelius of Puxico, third place “Pluto” and Honorable Mention “The Flower.”
Drawing: Katie Coleman of Dexter, first place “Fly on the Wall”; Savannah Gourley of Dexter, second place “Mesmerize”; Katie Coleman of Dexter, third place “3 View”; and Janie Lindsey of Dexter, honorable mention “Oculus.”
Mixed Media: Janie Lindsey of Dexter, first place “Emerald”; Katie Coleman of Dexter, second place “Sultry String”; Janie Lindsey of Dexter, third place “Sleepless in Seattle”; and Baylee Valenzulla of Poplar Bluff, honorable mention “Flower.”
Three Dimensional: Tara Ackerman of Puxico, first place “Majestic Beast”; Emma Govreau of Farmington, second place “Humble Beginnings”; Bianca Thomas of Puxico, third place, “Quadricorn”; and Annabell Caudill of Farmington, honorable mention “Gypsy.”
